It's probably some incompatability issue with some hardware in my computer.

ReplyDeleteThere seem to be a lot of technical questions I have regarding getting in there which are not really covered by anyone.
-Do I have to uninstall uru and then reinstall it?
-Do I just merely DL the patch and say goodbye to my old saved files? (which is not a big deal, since I wasnt’ that far into the game anyway.)
It just seemed like everybody got all their basic info right at the beginning of Uru Live and UU and now that UU has dome around again, I wonder if people assumed that everybody knew the basics. I don't.
I can play Uru just fine by itself.
I have DSL.
But for whatever reason, after DLing the patches and doing what I have been told to do, per instructions, I get an error message each time I try to load UU.
Error message is as follows:
“login failed. Unspecified Server error.”
I do not know why.
Thing is, I do not have the geek skills to understand what the problem is.
It is probably some freaky step I am missing, or it is probably a conflict with some outdated hardware on my comp.
Or both.
I don’t know, nor do I have the abilities to find out, nor the time it would take for some one like me to spend researching it, and I don’t have the finances to pay some one to find it out for me.
Walt said once that I might be getting that error message merely because the server was overloaded. But I don’t think Cyan would be making that king of mistake at this point in time.

I think it is something else.
And I haven’t a clue what it is.

And I don’t know how to help you, to help me figure it out.

I can do some lyst functions and grok some of the Lyst management junk, but not something so simple as "a game."
James always found the fixes to my game/comp problems.So far, all that the advent of UU has done recently, is to remind me what a huge GAP his passing has left in my life.
I am thankful that I can say, "It takes 3 people to replace James, and that I have those people at hand. It's you, and Blue and Barb."
(Actually, I think it takes more people to replaces James. Its you, blue, Walt,Peter and Barb.)
