My Hammered Dulcimer builder

Hey Rick Fogel, builder of fine folk instruments, including my signed, numbered one of a kind hammered dulcimer has a video posted on YouTube.
Each instrument he builds is unique, and a work of art in itself. The sound/tonal quality - which is already fabulous - improves each year as the instrument ages and is played.

This is truly a master Craftsman.

I hope you enjoy his video.

  1. I haven't been keeping up with your blog i guess. Just read about your foot. How's it doing? :-( I realize you're not a patient person. I also realize that you're an ambitious person (goes well with impatience :-p) so I know how an injury like that could really bother you. I also think sometimes things happen because if they didn't happen we would never take the time to watch season 1 of Heroes or Jericho or whatever.. I do hope you are feeling better.

I was thinking about you and your sketch book and your life and how fundemental God is in everything you do and create and though I can't say I agree with the more evangelical christian bits about your faith, you are to me a very good christian person and I'm proud that you let your faith infiltrate so much of your life and yet I think you're still fundementally human and I dunno.. the fact that you being you and me being me can still share and find hope in God and Life and Goodness well I mean you haven't lost that, which is why I know you've still been able to forgive me when I've made you mad sometimes or said things that .. I dunno. Meeting you in Spokane for instance, I had so much fun hanging out with you. You have the same brilliance and spirit in real life as you have through your blogs and emails and whatever else.. So it was nice. And I can read you now and see that you still haven't changed, and that makes me happy to some degree. *laugh* though perhaps there are still a few ideas in your head i wouldn't mind changing.. (global warming for instance *cough*) you're still a pretty cool person anyway. ;-)

    *hugs*

    sorry about your foot.
glad to hear that you're not lacking for inspiration.
