My mother-in-law had told my ex husband when he was little that she knew he had done something bad, because a little birdie told her. She proceeded to say that God has birds keep an eye on little boys to make sure they do not find trouble. Even as a little boy, he reasoned that no matter where he went, there was surely a bird there watching him. It always freaked him out so much, I told my children the same thing... they didn't buy into it as strongly as their father. However, when I shared this story with friends in a blog, I seemed to have created an environment for a few of my readers to tow the line when there are birds present. I often get texts and facebook posts of camera phone shots of birds with a message that says, Make them leave me alone." or something along those lines. Birds can truly be terrifying to some people ;)
